Paper Tower Challenge
Objective:
Working in teams of 4, your goal is to build a paper tower that will hold a marble at as high a point as possible for a minimum of 10 seconds. You will be presenting on your tower during our second class.
Constraints and Criteria:
- You may use scissors to cut the paper.
- You may use the following paper supplies:
- You may not use any type of adhesives.
- The height of the marble must be at least 10 inches.
Verbal Report:
During your presentation, you will speak upon the following questions:

- 2 large sheets of newspaper
- 5 sheets of standard 8.5 in. x 11 in. copy paper
- 1 manilla folder
- You may not use any type of adhesives.
- The height of the marble must be at least 10 inches.
Verbal Report:
During your presentation, you will speak upon the following questions:
- How did you choose your design?
- How did you assemble your tower, in a mechanical sense?
- Was their a trial-and-error process?
- What specific challenges did you encounter building your tower?
- Are there other building materials you think would be preferable for improved height and durability?
- What would you do differently next time?
